About BCS

Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) is a Universal Divine Institution. It teaches and practices Universal Love, Peace, Unity, Truth and Righteousness in The Holy Spirit. It is also known as Christ Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity (CUSSPC). Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the New Kingdom of God. The World Headquarters (WHQS) of BCS is located at No. 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria in West Africa.

This Spiritual Kingdom was established physically on earth in the year 1956 at No. 8, Eton Street, (the Cradle), Calabar in Cross River State, Nigeria, and was registered as a Corporate Body with the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 24th day of March, 1964.

Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the biblical proverbial mustard seed whose insignificant genesis in Biakpan land a backwater village in the remotest area of the present day Cross River State of Nigeria has metamorphosed into a Universal Movement with the highest spiritual greatness made possible by love, humility, truth, consistency and the charismatic personality of The Founder and Sustainer, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, The Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe.

The name ‘BROTHERHOOD’ means Love, Truth, Good Manners, Mercy, Patience, Humility, Meekness, Unity as well as the Oneness of all God’s creations. It is not a political party, secret society, cult, or anything of the world. Rather, it is the New Kingdom of God instituted and governed by God Himself.

Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) is non-denominational, non-sectional, and non-governmental. In Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, humans are taught to live harmoniously in love and oneness as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Everybody, in spite of geographical divide is as one in The Holy Spirit. Brotherhood of the Cross and Star upholds the ‘Doctrine of Mutual Dependence’ that binds everything-created and uncreated-together. In fact, it is the ‘Assemblage of the True Children of God’ who have been redeemed by The Almighty Father through the Pure and Sinless Blood of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ

(Dan. 2: 44; I Cor. 12: 12-13, 25-27; etc).

  1. To Love One Another as taught by Our Lord Jesus Christ and practiced by The Holy Father, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, The Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe.

“Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love The Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matt. 22: 37-40).

  1. To spread the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ to all parts of the world.

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you” (John 20: 21).

  1. To follow the footprints of Our Lord Jesus Christ, not only by preaching the Gospel but by practicing same.

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments”; and “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you” (John 14: 15 and 13: 15).

  1. To cater for the needs of sinners, and convert them to the Path of Righteousness.
  1. To establish and develop physical infrastructures such as Educational and Health Institutions, Agricultural Enterprises and Industries; and to engage in other lawful activities to generate funds for the welfare of people in different parts of the world, thus, enhancing the spiritual emancipation of humanity.

Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), being the Christ Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity (CUSSPC) derives all her doctrines from the Supernatural Teachings and doctrines of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Isa. 2: 2-4; John 16: 12-15; I Cor. 13: 10-12).

BCS members worship in Bethels (as opposed to what others call Churches) as in Genesis 28: 11-22. The true meaning of Church is “Body of a person, which is where God dwells, and not a building or premises”. Bethel means “The House of God”, “The Gate of Heaven”; and “The Place of Refuge”.

Bethels are opened twenty-four hours of the day throughout the year (Rev. 7: 15, 21: 25). They are named after the places of location for the purpose of easy identification and location by members, hence 8 Eton Bethel, Calabar, Elephant and Castle Bethel, London; Washington DC Bethel, USA, Soweto Bethel, South Africa; Odorkor Bethel, Accra, Abasi Obori Bethel, Calabar, etc.

There are basically two categories of Bethels, that is, the Pentecostal Centres (PCs) and the non-Pentecostal centres. Pentecostal Centres operate as Bethels. However, during Pentecostal periods, non-Pentecostal Centres are closed down while members converge for worship at the Pentecostal Centres throughout such period. Pentecostal periods in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star holds three times in a year ( i.e. The April, August and December Pentecostal periods). Pentecostal Centres are associated with Zones and are opened and exist as to bring Pentecostal activities and blessings nearer to brethren in their given geographical locations and jurisdictions. Also, Sub-Pentecostal Centres are sometimes opened considering proximity.

Healing Homes and Spiritual Hospitals/Maternities are centres established by The Holy Father to specifically take care and address sicknesses, infirmities and solve spiritual and other problems of both baptized and non-baptized members. Operations are as directed by The Holy Spirit, hence purely and entirely spiritual which include fervent prayers, fasting, etc. Even during Pentecostal Periods, approved Healing Homes and Spiritual Hospitals/Maternities remain opened for obvious reasons.

All Healing Homes and Spiritual Hospitals/Maternities are to be registered mandatorily with The Leader’s Office at the World Headquarters and attached with a specific Bethel and Pentecostal Centre close to them for the purpose of proper monitoring of activities and supervision. No membership is encouraged in healing homes, as all operatives and patients must be duly registered with the Bethels they are administratively attached to.

BCS in her worship pattern or healing processes has nothing whatsoever to do with burning of candle and incense, or sacrificing and taking of bath at the river and at midnight among other fetish acts. Also, everything is done free of charge as The Holy Spirit is the Sole Operator and Doer of all things. However, showing appreciation at one’s will is encouraged!

The official uniform of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the WHITE GARMENT with CAPE known as the “SOUTANE” in conformity with Our Lord Jesus Christ revelation to John-the-Divine saying:“…And one of the Elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in White Robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the Blood of The Lamb. Therefore are they before The Throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His Temple: and He that sitteth on The Throne shall dwell among them” (Rev. 7: 13-15).

And again, it is said: “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the Righteousness of Saints… And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean” (Rev. 19: 8/14).

Brothers and Sisters use the same uniform, although the Sisters additionally have white head ties.

Soutane, the long white robe or garment is worn to Bethels and other places of worship by all members regardless of their ages and positions in the Kingdom (Rev. 3: 4-5, 7: 9-14). White Soutane was the same raiment that Our Lord Jesus Christ wore when He was transfigured (Matt. 17: 1-2).

White symbolises Righteousness, Purity and Peace. Also, Soutane is a glorious heavenly robe. As such, it should be sewn with pure white material to cover the feet and even flow on the ground. It is not a worldly fashion attire. For Sisters, it is not a dress that should reveal the top of the breasts; that is, the neck should not be cut too low as to expose the bosom.

Since it is sanctified by The Holy Spirit, it should be treated with respect and kept pure and holy at all times. Members must not use the garment for illegal businesses and operations. It should be used only on missionary and spiritual operations and activities.

Turbans are long-wide ropes (i.e. girdles) in different colours which are tied round the waist by the Ordained Brothers and Sisters in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

Ordination in BCS is done exclusively by The Holy Father Himself. The number of years in the Kingdom and age does not determine an individual’s eligibility for ordination. It is purely spiritual and is based on the Perfect Will of The Almighty Father. All positions and duties in BCS are based on Practical Love for One Another and Evangelism as “to make the whole world one is a task that must be done” (I Cor. 7: 20-24, 12: 1-31).

All male and female members of all ages and status are addressed as Brothers and Sisters respectively as we are all Brethren, being that we are of one parenthood (i.e. Adam and Eve), and come from God (Gen. 1: 26-27; Mal. 2: 10; Matt. 23: 8; Acts 9: 17; Rev. 6: 11).

BCS members knock (i.e. bow) their heads on the ground three times in reverence to The Holy Trinity God before and after prayers and at any time, place or occasion; that is, whenever The Holy Spirit prompts and directs (Gen. 17: 1-3; Josh. 5: 14; II Chron. 7: 3; Matt. 2: 11, 26: 39; I Cor. 14: 25; Rev. 4: 10-11, 7: 11, 5: 8-9, 11: 16-17, 19: 4-5). It is also known as THE FATHER’S TELEPHONE NUMBER.

Knocking of Head is an ancient practice. It is very vital and an effective part of communication with God. It is akin to a telephone dialing tone, and knocking on the door before going into a house.

It is pertinent to note here that The Holy Father has various unseen media of communication. One of them is the SPIRITUAL TELEPHONE. To dial The Holy Father, just kneel and knock your head, and immediately you knock your head the third time, the number clicks and The Holy Father appears, stands before you and says, “MY CHILD, PEACE! WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT NOW?” This number is never faulty or fails as the worldly communicating channels. There can never be circuit congestion as He has separate line for every individual. More so, this line cannot be tapped. It is the same telephone He uses to call us whenever He wants us. At times you hear it ringing in your ears or in your dreams, and at other times you hear Him talking to you directly. Therefore, wherever you are, and want to communicate with The Holy Father, kneel and dial the number and talk with Him. He is always there and wherever, even though He may be invisible to you at the time.

It is a practice in BCS that members must not put on foot wears or shoes into Bethels, or any other gathering of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. This is in recognition of the holiness of the divine sanctuary of God and the purity of His presence. The Scriptures corroborated this as it is recorded: “…Then said The Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground” (Acts 7: 33; Exo. 3: 4-5).

And whenever one puts on the White Soutane, one is expected to go on a barefoot. This is so, because ‘God is holy and all who worship Him, “must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth” (Josh. 5: 15; I Chron. 16: 29; Luke 22: 35; John 4: 23-24; Rom. 10: 14-15).

In line with biblical injunctions, all members are expected to pay one-tenth of their earning as tithe to God. Bethels, Associations and Fellowships are also expected to pay tithe from proceeds realised from functions. Tithe payment is a secret between one and God. It is one’s divine insurance policy to have good living on earth. The Lord God of Hosts has said to mankind in Malachi 3: 7-12 that:

“Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from Mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith The LORD of Hosts. But ye said, wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye say, wherein have we robbed Thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith The LORD of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for you sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith The LORD of Hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith The LORD of Hosts.”

This Scripture confirms tithing as an ancient practice. If you have been joking with the tithe belonging to God by way of not paying regularly, or using same for personal or group purpose, stop forthwith; otherwise your condition will get worse.

You attract great blessings when you pay your tithe regularly. Also ensure that all tithes paid into the Bethels’ Tithe Boxes are regularly remitted through the appropriate channel through authorized and designated Bank Tithe Accounts. On no account should a Bethel or Pentecostal Centre tamper with tithes paid into the tithe boxes.

It is important to note that if one’s tithe does not get to The Holy Father, it means that one has not paid it. So, members are advised to ensure that payments are made directly to The Holy Father or to ensure that the means of payment transfer is authorised and authentic.

Fasting is a spiritual act of refraining one’s self from food, water, and the lusts of the flesh including fornication, snuffing, smoking, backbiting and the like. It is a very serious process of self-sanctification and purification and a period when one devotes one’s self to fervent prayers and supplicates to God.

Fasting brings one closer to and in direct communication with one’s Creator in self-isolation from worldly activities. It is good for The Spirit as well as the flesh as it cures all types of sicknesses and solves man’s problems.

Therefore, BCS members are enjoined to fast 6.00a.m. to 6.00p.m., especially on Thursdays as it was the day Our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified (as opposed to Friday adopted by other Christian denominations). Read the Everlasting Gospel titled “Good Friday” by The Supernatural Teacher, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, The Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe.

Also, during the Annual Lenten Season of forty (40) days, BCS members are expected to partake in 6.00a.m. to 6.00p.m. fasting daily.

Again, before each Pentecostal Assembly, seventy two (72) hours of Dry Fasting is undertaken by all BCS members (Matt. 17: 21; Gal. 5: 24-25). This is to prepare members for the one month Pentecostal Assembly which commences one week after the Dry Fasting. And during the Pentecostal Period, fasting is observed daily from 6.00a.m. to 6.00p.m. to bring members closer to God, and to make them worthy to receive the Holy Words and Blessings of the Holy father. (Acts 13: 2-3). Outside these, since fasting is the food of the Spirit, individuals may at their own discretions or as may be directed by the Holy Spirit.

As with all other activities, a ‘Full Feast’ is served at the break of fast. Like other activities, everything in BCS is directed and done solely by The Holy Spirit. Therefore, nothing is made compulsory or imposed on any member since salvation is a personal race!

‘Peace of The Father’, ‘Perfect Peace’, ‘Peace be unto you’ and ‘Peace be unto this house’ constitute the general greetings of BCS members, irrespective of time and occasion. ‘Peace’ is a heavenly language as Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is not only The Prince of Peace, but also greeted as such, left peace behind for the world and its indwellers. More so, our Lord Jesus Christ commanded that we emulate Him in our greetings as practiced by the disciples of old. (Isa. 9: 6; Matt. 10: 12-13; Luke 10: 5-6; John 14: 27, 20: 19/21/26; Eph. 2: 13-15).

There is no imposition of levy in BCS. Everything is done out of freewill. Every member is expected to give freely, as much as he/she has the capacity to do. No one is to be forced or coerced into making any contributions.

BCS subscribes to the ancient practice of giving spiritual revelations via dreams, visions and prophecies to guide brethren and mankind in general about the past, present and future. This is only on a condition that such revelations are spiritually inspired.

The Scriptures uphold that “where there is no vision, the people perish”; and that when The Promised Comforter and The Spirit of Truth comes, “He will shew you things to come”. Prophets Daniel and Isaiah foretold about this Kingdom, that is, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and The Holy Spirit Personified. John- the Divine also corroborated these earlier revelations in a more detailed synopsis, particularly about the happenings of this time in his Book of Revelation as given to him by Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Prov. 29: 18; Isa. 63: 1-6; Ezek. 1: 1, 8: 3-4; Dan. 2: 44; Joel 2: 28-29; Matt. 17: 1-9; John 16: 13; Acts 2: 16-18; Heb. 1: 1-2; Rev. 1: 1-11; etc). Even so, there is the emphasis that one’s faith should always be on The Word of God than visions, and that brethren should always look unto The Holy Father alone in order not to be misguided.

BCS never approves of any vision having to do with seeing evil due to lust for pecuniary gains. It is advised seriously that whenever visions are given, brethren must ‘listen to their spirits’. Do not accept visions like: (a) sacrificing to mermaids; (b) paying tithe to fortune tellers or any other person; (c) taking midnight baths; (d) doing seven (7) days dry fasting; and (e) anything contrary to The Word of God and BCS’ Practices. These are the so called “ASSIGNMENTS”. Such revelations are meant to take advantage of victims and their households by the ‘Messengers of Satan’, and come directly from Satan and demonic spirits (Matt. 7: 21-23). Also, in this class are those who charge for visions. As soon as you identify such fortune teller, know that he/she is not a true child of God, hence anti-Brotherhood!

Spiritual work should be done in all Bethels every time there is healing service and watch and pray. The only places where spiritual work is not done physically during service are the BCS World Headquarters – 34 Ambo Great Hall and 26 Mbukpa Chapel (all in Calabar, Nigeria) for obvious reasons.

Most brethren and even the non-baptised brethren come to the Bethels on Sundays, mainly because of their duties or locations where they live. A lot of them come for prayers and visions. They must not be denied the services of The Holy Spirit; and knowing that BCS caters for all and sundry. Therefore, The Holy Spirit must be allowed to do His work. The Scriptures corroborate this practice. (Matt. 12: 10-12; Mark 2: 27-28).

Since salvation is a personal affair with God Almighty, and BCS being the Highest Spiritual Organization on earth, she encourages her members to venture into finding solutions to their spiritual problems personally, and not waiting for any other person.

The Holy Father’s prescription to solving any kind of problem include: (a) confession of sins; (b) fasting and prayer; (c) celebration of feast; (d) going on ministry work; (e) showing mercy to the poor and needy, or giving of alms (James 1: 27); (f) payment of tithe; and (g) purification of one’s heart and forgiving one’s offenders. Then, have faith and patiently wait for God to do His work at the most appropriate time. BCS does not believe in magic and charms.

All Bible Lessons for meetings and worship in BCS are drawn solely from THE NEW TESTAMENT since they are of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Our lessons never come from the Old Testament. It is only references or witnesses that come from the Old Testament.

In BCS, there is no child, man or woman, therefore, all can preach from the Pulpit. The work is done by The Holy Spirit. So, nobody else exists, but The Holy Spirit. However, before anyone mounts The Pulpit in any Bethel or Pentecostal Centre, such, irrespective of rank in the Kingdom, must obtain permission from the resident Priest(s).

Brotherhood of the Cross and Star does not use any kind of musical instrument(s). All our songs are rendered with our lips and nothing else. We do not beat drums or clap hands, neither do we stamp the feet during songs. This is in fulfilment of the Scriptures which asserts that:

“By Him therefore let us offer the Sacrifice of Praise to God continually, that is, the Fruit of our Lips giving thanks to His Name… for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (Heb. 13: 15-16); and “And they sung as it were a new song before The Throne… and no man could learn that song…” (Rev. 14: 3).

The Holy Father in His wisdom permit the use of Organ at the BCS World Headquarters and all BCS formations to enhance accurate tunes and keys during rendition of BCS Hymns and special songs.

Songs and prayers, The Holy Father has directed, should be translated and rendered in all languages of the world (Rev. 7: 9-10). This is so, because The Holy Father is Universal, and the Universal Language is LOVE; and all languages constitute LOVE. But if there is one language to be learnt, it is the BIAKPAN Language – the Language of the New World!

Ministry work in BCS constitutes one of the important spiritual weapons and panacea for problem-solving. It is the act of member(s) leaving their Bethel (or place of worship) to either another Bethel, or elsewhere on evangelical/missionary works up to bringing about converts. Ministry workers should not constitute burden on brethren and should not interfere with the administration of any Bethel unless dully authorized to do so by The Holy Father. (Matt. 10: 7-15; Luke 10: 2-20).

Going-on-Blessing entails brethren filing past the Altar orderly in Pews with their heads and faces down. The procession should be orderly with everyone in step and with both hands clasped together—finger-to-finger—as in prayer. It should be done in pews, and when each member gets to the Altar, he/she bows and puts an offering (i.e. money). Though it is important to put an offering, yet, it is not mandatory. However, everyone receives blessing(s) from The Holy Spirit.

It is not right to chat with or greet others while going on blessing. One is to concentrate and focus one’s mind wholly on the blessing(s) of God accruing from such divine procession

This is a period of tri-annual daily Fellowship meetings with The Holy Father only at the World Headquarters (34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Nigeria) and at approved Pentecostal Centres (PCs). During this period, Bethels and their activities are temporarily suspended until the Pentecostal Period is over. Worship Centres with Bethel status and their members resume normal daily activities at the close of each Pentecostal Period. Bethels resumption of activities goes with ‘Angels Welcoming Feast’.

Recall that it was on 8th August, 1958 that members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) led by The Supreme Holy Father first put on white apparel and marched from 8 Eton Street (the Cradle of BCS) to 26 Mbukpa Road (the Holy Chapel), all in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria. That Divine March of Revelation and Redemption marked the beginning of Pentecostal Assembly for BCS – a day Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ was revealed to the whole world.

From the maiden BCS Pentecostal Assembly which held only on the 8th of August, 1958, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in subsequent years has gradually progressed to holding Pentecostal Assemblies for the period three days, two weeks, until presently that each of the three of Pentecostal Assembly in a year is held for one month.

Pentecostal Assemblies serve as periods of revision of supernatural lessons taught during the preceding terms and periods of spiritual recharging when The Holy Father uses His Holy Words to do His works on brethren. It is expected that members observe 6.00a.m. to 6.00p.m. fasting daily throughout the Pentecostal period.

In all areas, there are designated Pentecostal Centres. Worship and other activities in all Bethels are not allowed during Pentecostal Periods. Brethren should take full part in Pentecostal Assemblies and Meetings, and endeavour to go to the World Headquarters, 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Nigeria where the Christ Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity (CUSSPC) is as to hear from The Supernatural Teacher Himself, and receive His manifold blessings.

During Pentecostal periods, all Fellowships in the Kingdom hold their meetings in turn with The Holy Father for performance appraisal, and are directed on the way forward. During these periods 5.00a.m., 10.00a.m. and 7.00p.m. Devotions/worships are held daily, followed by the various scheduled Fellowships’ Meeting with The Holy Father.

Normally, Pentecostal Assembly is preceded by a 3 Days and 3 Nights (or 72 Hours) Dry Fasting, held one week before the commencement of the Pentecostal Assembly. The seventy two (72) hours Dry Fasting signifies Christ’s three days and three nights in the grave; and it prepares and sanctifies members and make their bodies pure and acceptable to God for His service. The Dry Fast is not observed so that brethren might get wealthy, become healthy, have wives and husbands and any for material benefits. It is purely a spiritual exercise!

There are three Pentecostal seasons in a year and they all signify three most important events in the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ. They are:

April Pentecostal: It is in remembrance of the betrayal, torture, pain, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We remember and honour Him because He was crucified for us, and through the shedding of His Precious Blood and death, He redeemed the whole world. Also, it marks the fulfilment of His promises that He shall return to the earth; that He will send The Comforter which is The Holy Spirit; the Spirit of Truth who shall lead all to the accurate knowledge of truth, and the establishment of The Kingdom of God on earth (Dan. 2: 44; John 14: 1-4, 16: 7/12-15; I Cor. 13: 10-12; Rev. 21: 1-4).

August Pentecostal: This is in commemoration of the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ by John-the-Baptist, and Christ’s revelation as The Begotten Son of God. Also, it marks the Great March of the BCS Members from 8 Eton Street to 26 Mbukpa Road in Calabar, Nigeria on 8th August, 1958 which symbolises the Great March of the Redeemed Children of God on earth (Matt. 3: 16-17).

It should be noted that August is ‘The Month of Revelation’ as right from the ancient time, a lot of things took place in that month. Instances include the liberation of the Children of Israel from the Land of Egypt; the Wednesday on which Our Lord Jesus Christ celebrated ‘The Passover’ was in August; the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His revelation was in August; etc.

December Pentecostal: It is in remembrance and the celebration of The Holy Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ; and that of The Supernatural Teacher and The Promised Comforter, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, The Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe on 30th December (Luke 2: 10-14; Isa. 63: 1). This is the time for Christ’s glorification as He reigns in His supreme and eternal kingdom both in heaven and earth.

On every Easter Monday of the year, it is a common practice in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star that all faithful assemble physically before The Holy Father in 34 Ambo Great Hall, Calabar, Nigeria, to receive The Holy Spirit anew from The Holy Spirit Personified, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu Himself. This annual spiritual exercise is to reawaken both their spirits and bodies, thereby keeping them fit, emboldened and empowered for the great commission. This is in fulfilment of the ancient scriptural prophecies, and as practiced by Our Lord Jesus Christ thus:

“…And this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream: And on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy” (Acts 2: 14-18); and

“…Then said Jesus to them again, peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. And when He had said this, HE BREATHED ON THEM, and saith unto them, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST: whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained” (John 20: 17-23). Read also Joel 2: 28-29, Acts 1: 1-8 and 2: 1-4.

For Confession of Sins:

Start with –

“In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

 Now and forever more, Amen.

Father, this is to confess my sins before You and Your witnesses….”

(Now, you must confess your sins and pray The Holy Father for forgiveness)

End with –

“In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

 Now and forever more, Amen.”

For Discussion, Testimony and Revelations:

Start and End with –

“In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

      Now and forever more, Amen.”

For Prayers:

Start with –

“Let thanks and praises be to God in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let thanks and praises be to God in the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let thanks and praises be to God, now and forever more, Amen.

Holy, Holy, Holy Father…” (You can now say your prayer).

End with –

“Let thanks and praises be to God in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let thanks and praises be to God in the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let thanks and praises be to God, now and forever more, Amen.

In Brotherhood of the Cross and Star certain rites are performed according to the directives of The Holy Spirit. These include Baptism, Child Blessing, Love Feast and Marriage Blessing.

Baptism is one of the BCS Sacraments. It is a mandatory passage rite into God’s Kingdom now established on earth.

Baptism of Repentance and of The Holy Spirit as administered solely by BCS today is the gateway to salvation, and into the Kingdom of God. Through it, the Gift of The Holy Spirit is bestowed unto man. All those seeking for the Kingdom of God must observe this FIRST STEP of Baptism by Immersion notwithstanding whether or not one had been baptised elsewhere (Acts 19: 1-7)..

Baptism in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star can be conducted anywhere in the world at any time (day or night), that is, as soon as the new convert is ready for it. It must not be postponed provided there is water deep enough to cover the person when immersed because the lost sheep are flocking in now as time is up. There is no age restriction as both adults and children need salvation equally (Matt. 3: 11, 28: 18-20; John 3: 5-8; Mark 16: 16-18; Eph. 4: 4-5).

The Day of Baptism into BCS, the New Kingdom of God on Earth is a unique and most important day in a person’s life.  Therefore, the person should unfailingly break a feast. It is a Day of Salvation and Joy. After baptism and anointing, one becomes bound in unity with other brethren to fulfil the Scripture which says, “One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism” (Eph. 4: 5).

Nobody should be begged, coerced, intimidated or threatened to baptise into Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. Therefore, before one is baptised, one must have freely shown absolute faith and belief in Our Lord Jesus Christ as The Son of God, Son of Man and God Himself. Prospective Members must accept to resign their membership of all secret societies and to do away with all charms, concoctions, rings, talisman and occult books, materials and practices; otherwise such baptism is of no effect and benefit. Know that if The Father does not call anyone, he/she cannot come unto Him. It is necessary for people to know what they are baptising into. Therefore, it is incumbent and important to: (a) tell them what Brotherhood of the Cross and Star stands for; (b) tell and explain to them why they have to be baptised, even though they might have been baptised earlier; (c) tell them the need to refrain from sins; and (d) tell them the benefits of having The Holy Spirit. Always use the Scriptures (as The Holy Spirit directs) to support your explanations and assertions. Give them tracts and let them go home and read and come back for discussions. Even after that, let them attend worship for some time and witness things for themselves, if that will help them to believe and make up their minds. When they are fully convinced and are ready, then any BCS member with full knowledge of baptism rites can lead the baptism. However, there are some who would come and say that they are ready for immediate baptism. Do not hesitate, go and baptise them.

BCS does not charge money for baptism. Therefore, anybody who charges money should put one’s self in prayer as such practice is evil, more so, attracts negative consequences to the perpetrator.

Note very importantly that any BCS member who has been baptised and who knows the ‘Procedure for Baptism’ is authorised to administer baptism on the non-baptised as we are not under the law. For the Order of Conducting Baptism, see pages ……………………

Child Blessing is another Sacrament of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. It is a divine practice of ancient origin. It is a form of acknowledgement and acceptance by a Couple or Family or Families, of God’s love and gift experienced in the form of a child. In reciprocity, the child is given back to God for His eternal blessing, guidance and protection.

As Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ was presented in the Temple of God on the eighth day, so also it is mandatory that every child born into BCS is blessed as such (Luke 2: 21-22). The blessing is done either during the Morning Devotion or Evening Service; but with strong emphasis on the eighth day from the date of birth.

There is an Order for Conducting Child Blessing as laid down by The Holy Spirit. See pages ………………………………

Love Feast is a sacrament in BCS is introduced by The Holy Spirit. It is to commemorate the Passover Feast or Last Supper during which Our God and Saviour changed Bread to His Living Body, and Wine to His Priceless Blood. BCS daily celebrates Love Feast in fulfilment of the Scriptures in Luke 22: 15-20 and I Cor. 11: 23-26.

Love Feast is very sacred and can accomplish anything. Feast is not food that one eats to be filled (I Cor. 11: 20-34). Thus, a piece of bread, biscuit, banana, orange, pawpaw, pineapple and even a spoon of rice is enough for one to eat as feast. Therefore, it should be bought, prepared and eaten with utmost reverence and respect to The Holy Spirit. No form of struggle or fight for feast is permitted. When it is served, one is expected to kneel and pick portion without the greed of taking the highest ration. Pregnant Sisters are allowed to pick another portion for their unborn child.

Feast in BCS consists of fruits, vegetables, legumes, rice, bread, etc and water. It is devoid of flesh-eating and dairy products as it is purely vegan in nature. Love Feasts are blessed and served at the end of fasting, or about the end of Service, Fellowship or activities.

There are two types of Love Feast in BCS, and these include: (a) FRUIT FEAST, which consists of various types of fruits; and (b) FULL FEAST, which consists of both fruits and foodstuff.

There is no special time set aside for conducting feast; and no special fruits or foodstuff are recommended for feast. Also, there are no conditions, modalities and specific amount of money stipulated for celebrating feast.

Again, there is HOUSE FEAST which could be FRUIT or FULL. It is instructive that BCS members do House Feasts or House Blessing before, or shortly after they have moved into a new place of living. House Feasts or Blessing can also be done at will as The Holy Spirit reveals or directs (Acts 2: 42-47). See Order of Conducting House Feast/Blessing in pages ………………………………

On FEAST PREPARATION, it is expected that monies meant for the purchase of feast items be made available to the Bethel Mother (as the case may be) who will go herself or with others to purchase feast items. Feast is to be purchased in white and those responsible for purchase of feast items must first have their sins confessed and pray before they start preparation. Tithes must be paid from the feast monies. The Process of feast preparation must be holy and devoid of quarrels, anger and unnecessary talks. No one may start eating the feast before it is blessed and shared, whether or not by a Mother and whoever. As much as possible, children should always be served first; and feast should be shared evenly.333W To note importantly is the point that those preparing the feast should ensure that they are pure, not forgetting that it is The Holy Spirit alone that does the preparation. And should one want to celebrate a feast, one can do so with whatever amount of money one has. God does not place a price tag on feast.

Since the BCS Lifestyle is pure veganism, members do not kill, eat, or offer meat or fish. Rather, eating of fruits is very important and significant in their living. Hence, members are encouraged to have fruits at their homes to serve visitors and strangers instead of drinks (Gen. 1: 29). And since BCS members do not take any alcoholic drink, wine, soft or any artificially-mixed drinks, except water, they don’t offer any of such to any visitor to them at home. Smoking and snuffing are neither acceptable in BCS since none is classified as food by The Holy Spirit.

Marriage Blessing is another sacrament in BCS. Marriage as a holy institution is recommended to all brethren of the fold, that is, if they so wish but on the condition that a man must be husband of one wife, and a woman, wife to one husband.

Solemnization of Marriage in BCS is the highest anybody can desire to experience, because it is done by The Holy Spirit. The Holy Father, therefore, advises that all brethren have their marriages blessed in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star even if they were married in Court or Church prior to their baptism into the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

Any Brother or Sister who cannot practice strict monogamy and be faithful to his/her partner should remain a celibate. Trial and Contract Marriages are not allowed in BCS. Once a couple’s marriage has been blessed, it is for life; hence such cannot marry again, except on the grounds of demise of one of the partners/couple.

All married couples, and indeed all brethren, are advised to buy and read the divine publication titled, “KEY TO SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE” being Everlasting Gospels delivered by The Supernatural Teacher, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu for guidance and counselling.
